Internships

Join Us as a Seasonal Intern

Ever dreamed of spending your mornings among the herbs, hands in the soil, learning the old ways of working with plants? Maybe a seasonal herbal internship at Sacred Roots is for you! It's a beautiful way to soak up real herbal knowledge for free, watch the farm transform from spring's first shoots to fall's golden fullness, and make real connections with the land and the people who tend it. This an amazing opportunity to learn the entire process of what goes into herb production; planting, maintenance, harvesting, drying, and processing.

This is a season-long work-trade commitment, running March through September. We ask for between 3-6 hours of your time each week. For past interns, this has usually been 1-2  mornings a week. Mornings of the week are very flexible- Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays.

In exchange for lending us your energy on the land, you'll be gifted:

  • Hands-on knowledge of growing herbs, taught directly by a seasoned herbalist who works alongside with you all season
  • Living plants to take home and tend in your own garden
  • Fresh herbs for making your own teas and medicine
  • Students: we are happy to help you arrange college credit for your time with us

No green thumb required; just curiosity, a love of plants, and a willingness to get a little dirt under your nails. Come learn alongside us, and leave each season feeling a little more rooted.

Ready to join the fold? We are now accepting applications for the 2027 season. Reach out to us through our contact page and tell us a bit about yourself, why you're interested in interning with us, and your schedule availability for the upcoming year. We will set up an interview to see if it's a good fit. Interviews start in February.
